Co-Owner & Technical Director

Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), an IRS Enrolled Agent and an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent. His aim in founding Howell International Tax is to deliver clear, practical, and responsive tax advice to non-accounting investors, ensuring solutions are tailored to each client’s unique personal or business goals.

Originally from the UK, Simon relocated to Florida in 2013. With a US green card awarded for “Extraordinary Ability” based on his expertise in business turnarounds, Simon brings a wealth of international experience to his role advising non-US investors on optimal routes for investing in the United States. Simon became a US Citizen with Dual Nationality in 2019. Simon regularly presents to conferences of Realtors and Title companies many of whom regard he and his team as their local US expert.

Simon held leadership positions in finance and operations in major UK and International firms, including DAC Beachcroft LLP,  Salans LLP, Nabarro LLP, The Royal Berkshire Hospital, The Wellcome Trust and Genome Research Limited representing the Trust on the Steering Committee of the Science Museum’s Wellcome Wing and the Seed Bank at Kew Gardens. Simon has also held senior roles at UBM PLC, SG Warburg, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He served as a Non-Executive Director and Finance Trustee for St. John Ambulance on the Audit & Risk Committee.

EMMA HOWELL

Co-Owner & Tax Office Manager

Simon’s wife Emma brings 25 years of operational and service expertise being a former top Legal Secretary at a major UK law firm UK, an administrator for the UK Police, including work within the British courts, and as a Finance Administrator for 12 years at Next Plc before her US arrival. Emma now has 10 years of experience in foreign national tax reporting, client professional engagement and plays a pivotal role in the firm’s operations, overseeing client liaison, Tax information gathering and content review for personal and corporate tax return preparation.

Emma is an ITIN expert handling over 200 applications or renewals each year, liaising with the IRS, and also specializes in LLC, LLP and Corporate compliance.

As the primary point of contact for over 2,000 clients worldwide, Emma ensures that every client receives responsive, organized, and professional support during their US tax return process.

NATASHA ANDERSON

Senior Tax Preparer & FIRPTA Specialist

Natasha earned her B.Sc. in Business Administration (Accounting) from Webber International University in 2012. Since graduating, she has built a specialized career in US tax preparation for Foreign Resident investors. Natasha, like Simon, is also an IRS Enrolled Agent and an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent for ITINs. With over 13 years of experience, Natasha prepares more than a thousand tax returns each year, including:

• Personal income tax returns for non-resident aliens (1040NR)
• LLC and LLP Partnership business filings (Form 1065)
• Federal and State Corporation Tax returns (Form 1120 etc.)

In particular, since 2013 Natasha has developed deep expertise in FIRPTA, earning a reputation as one of the leading FIRPTA specialists in Florida. Her accuracy, speed, and in-depth understanding of FIRPTA (Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act) withholding and compliance is unparalleled. She an invaluable resource for clients, title companies and US Realtors navigating US property sales and investments.
